The Tallest Basketball Players in the World

Rankings of the tallest basketball players can change in a matter of weeks. As of October 2026, ten active pros stand 7'3" (2.21 m) or taller, but several of their spots depend on contracts, preseason cuts, and prospects who haven't turned pro yet.
At the top, Tacko Fall holds the number one spot at 7'6" (2.29 m). He signed a training-camp deal with the Philadelphia 76ers in September, and whether he makes the opening-night roster will decide if he also becomes the tallest player in the NBA. Right now, that title belongs to Victor Wembanyama at 7'4" (2.24 m).
Further down, 7'3" Bol Bol was still without a club for the new season when the list was compiled, and 38-year-old Boban Marjanović is in the late stage of a long career.
The next wave is already in sight. Olivier Rioux, a 7'9" (2.36 m) center at UC Irvine, is the tallest active player at any level, and Australia's Jongkuch Mach measures 7'6" (2.29 m) at just 17. If either turns pro, the top of the list could look very different within a few years.
The all-time record will be much harder to touch. Manute Bol and Gheorghe Mureșan have shared the NBA mark of 7'7" (2.31 m) for decades.
